私たちについて

Our Mission

私たちは小さな編集デスクです。地方に点在する、一軒家や二軒家の小さな博物館を静かに訪れ、そこに眠る日常の記憶を書き留めています。それは大きな歴史ではなく、一人の陶工が作り続けた壺、漁師が使った綱、農家の米びつといった、普通の人々の暮らしの記憶です。

和みの道は、そんな場所を季節をめぐって紹介する、静かな編集サービスです。インターネットで検索しても出てこないような場所、駅から20分歩いた先にある場所、入館料が300円で受付もない場所。そこには、時間が止まったような静けさがあります。

We are a small editorial desk. We quietly visit tiny one-room and two-room museums scattered across rural Japan, writing down the everyday memories they hold. Not grand history, but the memory of ordinary life: a potter's lifelong work, a fisherman's ropes, a farmer's rice bins.

NagomiMichi is a calm editorial service that introduces such places, season by season. Places that do not appear in internet searches. Places a 20-minute walk from the station. Places with 300-yen admission and no reception desk. Where time feels as though it has stopped.

アリゾナ州メサを拠点に、日本の地方博物館に関する研究調整と英語編集を担当しています。日本の田舎の静かな博物館を訪れることが、もともとの趣味でした。

Based in Mesa, Arizona, Kaeson coordinates research and handles English-language editing. Visiting quiet rural museums in Japan has long been a personal interest.

Based in Matsue, Shimane, Jiki visits small museums across Japan to document exhibits and write in Japanese. Much of his information comes from conversations with local museum caretakers.

How We Select and Document

和みの道に掲載される博物館は、私たちの日本チームが実際に訪問して選定しています。各博物館の管理人との話を聞き、地域の歴史資料を参考にしながら、展示品の背景を調べています。ただし、すべての棚のすべての品物を逐一確認しているわけではありません。管理人の話や記録に基づいて紹介文を作成しており、誤りが含まれる可能性があることをご承知おきください。

掲載内容は、定期的に見直しを行っています。最終確認日は各博物館のページに記載しています。

Each museum listed on NagomiMichi is selected through visits by our Japan team. We speak with caretakers and consult regional historical records to understand the background of exhibits. However, we do not claim personal inspection of every item on every shelf. Our descriptions are based on caretaker accounts and records, and errors may be present.

We review published content periodically. The last reviewed date is noted on each museum's page.
